Who: Margate Siblings | What: New Year’s Eve 2009
April and I are here in New Orleans. Before the conference starts on Monday, I wanted to make sure to write a blog post about a New Year’s Eve party my siblings and I threw. We’ve never thrown a party on New Year’s Eve party and we knew that most of our good friends wouldn’t be able to make it, but it was an overall success! My sister Marj and I prepared all the food and decorations. We bought hats and noisemakers from Party City. We wanted a mini bar of candy for giveaways so I got apothecary jars from Michael’s. Instead of mimosas made out of the standard orange juice, we served it with grapefruit juice. Everyone that had the grapefruit mimosa really liked it and kept wanting more! Everyone was having so much fun that we almost missed the countdown! My mom has her traditions and one in particular was banging pots and pans together after the countdown. Everyone cheered her on!
