Everytime I’m reading through wedding blogs, I ALWAYS see these scrumptious-looking treats:

Colorful, no? They’re macarons, a French sandwich-like pastry with two-thin cookies and a cream or ganache in between. Is your mouth watering yet? They come in all different colors and flavors. It would be perfect for a dessert buffet, favors, and even a cake!

So where can you find these yummy goodness? Paulette Macarons is located in Beverly Hills and San Francisco. But don’t worry fellow San Diegans! You don’t have to make the drive or flight north. Opera Patisseries also sells macarons in modern or classic form! My friend TicTac works there and I have yet to go, but this makes me want to head over there right now!

We first met with Raina and Brian in May when Jasmin (see Jasmin & Chris’s wedding) referred us to them. We also did their other friends Lanie & Vic’s invitations and wedding details. With their wedding just five months away, they were eager to get started with all the details! They worked with April with all their event stationery (save-the-dates, invitations, reception programs, table number/menu cards, and name card/favor boxes). April also made their customized scrapbook-style guestbook and their card box. I met with Raina and Brian every month to go over their timeline and make sure all the fine logistical details were worked out. I also set them up with hula entertainment through Auntie Barabara and Pualani Studios (thanks to our friend Suzie!). It was quite a challenge with such a big wedding party, but we worked everything out. It was definitely a loooong day (12-hour shift!) with an extensive reception program. Everyone, especially the bride and groom, seemed to have a lot of fun! I have to give a special shout-out to Christian from Courtyard Marriott and Claudia from Bridal Network for being extra helpful!!! Congratulations Raina & Brian! We’ll miss working with you!
Hopefully we’ll get some of their professional pictures!
Very special thanks to Team R&B: Ceremony – Marie & Connie with St. Rita’s Church, Reception – Christian & Laura from Marriott Courtyard Liberty Station, Flowers/Cake/Doves/Decor – Claudia from Bridal Network, Photography/Videography – Jim Freeman & Kosmicki Photography & Video, Hula Entertainment – Auntie Barbara from Pualani Studios, and DJ/MC – Joel & Alvin.

I’m finally getting around to posting about the BIGGEST task we’ve had to date: Jennifer and Ian’s wedding invitations! They’re having a pretty big wedding (I’m talking 300-400 people here), so we provided 250 invitations. If you remember their STDates and wedding shower invitation, they have a chargers/sports theme going on but for their actual invitations, they wanted to keep it a formal pocketfold in their theme colors (teal and silver). We’ll be incorporating the same colors in the rest of their stationery for their big day.
It’s less than a month until their big day! How exciting! :]

The best way to describe Melvin and Maryrose are cute! Melvin has been my brother’s friend since middle school. Right when my brother found out that Melvin got engaged, he told him about newly-formed Simply Chic. M&M (as Simply Chic referred to them) got a hold of us a few months later and we were able to help them with such a beautiful wedding. Maryrose has a graphic design background, so came up with all the wedding detail designs. She and Melvin did an excellent job! I just loved the bridesmaids’ dresses. It looked so good on each of the girls! And their shoes were all different colors. So cute!
Melvin and Maryrose are an easygoing couple, so were their family and friends! They were our first official rehearsal and wedding, and both went smoothly. Thank you so much to M&M, along with their friends and families. And thanks to Melvin for making us his famous adobo on our first meeting together! It was so yummy!
Melvin and Maryrose’s preview pictures were posted on their photographer Heidi’s blog. Heidi did an amazing job! She lost her voice so had her husband come and help her out during the photoshoot after the ceremony. She said she’ll send me more so I’ll post them as soon as I get them. For now, here’s a sneak peek:
Thanks to these wonderful vendors that made up of Team M&M: Photographer – Heidi O Photo (www.heidiophoto.com), DJ & MC – DJ Ceywut & Ryan Flores (www.ceywut.com), Cake – It’s a Piece a Cake (www.itsapieceacake.com), Venue: Bali Hai Restaurant (www.balihairestaurant.com).

April and I are super excited to go to The Special Event 2010 in New Orleans next year! The Special Event is the special events industry conference. This year, it was held in San Diego and I was able to attend the Exhibit Hall (though not that long). It will be our first business trip and we’ll be attending the educational sessions, hopefully some networking events, and, of course, enjoying the big easy!!!

We’ll be there from January 8-15, with the conference from January 12-15. April has been to New Orleans before, but it’ll be my first time! Any suggestions on what to do, where to go, and most importantly, what/where to eat???
