April already blogged about the scrapbook she made for her brother Jeff and Bev’s engagement, along with Bev’s bridal shower over a month ago. And now, it’s time to blog about their wedding! Bev and Jeff tied the knot a couple Saturdays ago on September 19, 2009. Their ceremony took place at the beautiful Immaculata in USD and the celebration commenced at NTC Promenade’s McMillin Companies Event Center. While on my trip to the East Coast, they had asked me for help before and after the ceremony. I happily agreed. I sort of served as the assistant to the church’s wedding coordinator, who coincidentally enough is my friend and fellow USD Event Management classmate Bri. I helped gather the wedding party to get lined up for the processional and helped pin them (including the groom, eight groomsmen, two sets of parents, and ten sets of sponsors) with their corsages and boutonnieres. I also did other minor but important pre- and post-ceremony tasks and I was glad to be of help! Bev and Jeff make a great couple and everything in their wedding turned out beautiful! CONGRATS BEV AND JEFF!!!
The wonderful Starcross’d Creative put together this video shown during the reception:
We couldn’t have been any more excited when our previous clients, Lanie and Victor, referred us to their friends who were getting married in October, Raina and Brian. We met with them a few months ago to help them with their save-the-dates and invitations. Since then, we’ve broadened our scope and were hired to help with their overall design, planning, and coordination! It’s been an exciting time, not only for the happy couple, but for us!
When it came time to designing their invitations, since we had already worked with a couple of their friends’ invitations, they wanted to make sure it was different from the rest while still having all the elements a traditional pocketfold invitation has. We came up with the following:
Saturday, September 12, was my sister Marijene’s 24th birthday. We celebrated at Wine Cabana, where my cousin Kim had her 30th birthday earlier this year. We decided to make customized menu inserts to place in Wine Cabana’s menu booklets. We also made “Thank You” tags for the favors (a bag of yogurt-covered pretzels) we put together. Marj (her nickname) wanted burnt orange and brown as her colors, which happens to be the colors of her bedsheets! I’m starting to get into stamping so I bought a few stamps and brown ink and voila! We got food from Souplantation. The idea came from Bev’s Bridal Shower (a few posts ago) because WE LOVE that restaurant. My mom cooked salmon, meatballs, spaghetti, and lumpia! Yum!! My sister’s creative friend Bernadette made a fruit bouquet, and being a wine place, my cousin Jasmine brought cheese and crackers. Everyone had fun eating and drinking as much wine and beer they can!
