Money Lei and Alcohol Shots Sash

My friends graduated from SDSU a few weeks ago. I decided to make a money lei, as well as sashes with alcohol shots attached to it. I did this last year for my boyfriend’s brother’s graduation and it was a big hit so I had to do it again! This was my first time ever making a money lei. I ran into a few kinks, but other than that, overall success. When I graduated, I hated it when the money from the lei would squish against the back of my neck b/c of other leis and sashes I’d get. I made it so the ribbon would go around the back… and I also only had $50, not $100 to spare. Each sash was made with 3 types of ribbon to coordinate with the SDSU colors, 2 alcohol shot bottles from BevMo, 2 $1 bills, little “2009″ objects, and I made the “0″ and “9″. Needle, thread, glue, scissors, and voila! It took a lot of time and effort so I’m glad everyone loved the idea!

We’ll gladly make money leis. They’re perfect for graduations, weddings (especially during the money/honeymoon dance), birthdays, and more!

moneylei_honeymoondanceHere’s a money lei April made for a friend’s Honeymoon Dance during the reception! (It’s the lei thick w/dollar bills.)

We also offer sashes (made with money and/or ribbon and more!), but probably not with the alcohol shot bottles since we’d probably need an alcohol license to sell it! Other than that, ideas are endless.
