i’ve always had an obsession over paper and crafts. one of my recent projects (and a graduation gift to my soon-to-be sister-in-law) was a scrapbook of the moment my brother and her got engaged.
the details: my brother proposed to his gf of 3 years, bev, in her favorite city.. san francisco. as a surprise, he flew me out to help set up the location and to capture the moment. it almost went off without a hitch except when she totally heard me giggling from behind a trashcan! it was awesome regardless and i’m sooo happy to be able to say i was there to witness such a special moment!
thanks to bev and my brother for letting me post this.

Tonight we celebrated Ginet’s 25th birthday at Whisknladle in La Jolla. Her real birthday is tomorrow (more like in 25 minutes), but with it being so close to Thanksgiving she celebrated tonight. Whisknladle was really accomodating and even made her a personalized menu… they are very highly recommended!
Her color theme was teal, black, and white, so we made her invitations and favor boxes to match. I baked red velvet cupcakes (Ginet made the YUMMY (aka best-part-of-the-cupcakes) cream cheese frosting) and packaged them in the favor boxes. Not trying to toot my own horn or anything, but I really like how the boxes turned out!
PS. HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY GINET!!!!

The website for the most part may look the same but we now have an official logo! Woohoo! Thanks to Dionne from Studio Chic Design. She captured the “simply chic” feel!

My good friend Sheryl asked me to help her make favors for her friend Nina’s baby shower. We went to Michael’s to see what we can come up with. We bought these pre-made white boxes to make alphabet blocks. We cleaned out that product! Hah. We also bought paper, one with a pea in a pod pattern and another with cars, to make it more cutesy. We also found these really cute felt animal stickers! There’s a little more to do, but here’s a preview:

So I didn’t post a recap sooner than later… I’ve had training all week last week. April and I do work full-time as engineers. Anyway, the bazaar was good. Lots of cake sampling! Just thinking about it makes me crave some sweets! We also tried this amazing crab dip from one of the caterering vendors. It’s so good we went back for seconds! Overall, it was a good experience. Christian and Karen were able to get a good feel of what they want (and what they don’t want). And who knows? Maybe Simply Chic will have its own booth some day! Karen and I took photos from a photobooth but I haven’t scanned it yet.
Hope ya’ll had a Happy Halloween! It’s already November… which means, I’m turning 25 soon!
